How would Fiala not been a great fit? No room for a 25 year old PPG wing? And you’d rather lottery tickets than a sure thing? Ok.

And he clearly did not go for “a lot.” The offer you had to beat to get him was average.

Let them dig at Hischier... Nico's about to manifest Datsyuk like numbers next year or two.

Agreed. Woo is big on the copium here He got absolutely roasted on twitter the past few days for putting this take there too. He absolutely wouldve been a dynamite fit on a line with Nico.

Theres not a forward available(that wouldnt cost our entire future like a DeBrincat/Tkachuk) that is better than Fiala except for Gaudreau, and JG is 3 years older and will cost atleast 2M more. With everything considered(age/contract/assets given up/actual production/analytics and underlyings) Fiala was the best forward target out there for this team that is realistically available, period.

In his 32 Thoughts article, Friedman says he believes the Devils are one of the teams interested in bringing in Brunette as an assistant.

Mentioned a bunch of stuff that Pronman wrote in his mock about how teams believe the Devils like the defensive options at the top of the draft, and if they don't move the pick outright for an active player(mentioned DeBrincat and JT Miller, but the team needs to know they can sign them), the team will consider moving back. Said there's plenty of possibilities here.

Also mentioned that the Devils are expected to be in the Ville Husso conversation.

Pagnotta in his free agent board has the Devils linked to Gaudreau, Nichushkin(not happening lol), and Marchment up front and Husso, Campbell, and Fleury in net.

On his trade board the Devils are linked to DeBrincat, Miller, Garland, and Bertuzzi.
